Aleph Zero, a privacy-focused blockchain platform, has launched the first EVM-compatible Zero-Knowledge (ZK) Privacy Layer, boasting subsecond proving times. This breakthrough, powered by Arbitrum Orbit on Gelato's Rollups-as-a-Service (RaaS), marks a significant leap in on-chain privacy technology.

Aleph Zero's ZK-privacy EVM Layer 2 solution dramatically improves user experience by making privacy nearly instantaneous. Additionally, the company introduced zkOS, a chain-agnostic zero-knowledge privacy system designed for seamless integration into Web3 applications. This product suite aims to offer Privacy-as-a-Service (PaaS), enabling private transactions and dApp interactions without data compromise.

"Privacy remains a complex and costly challenge," said Antoni Zolciak, Co-founder of Aleph Zero. "With zkOS and our ZK-privacy EVM layer, we intend to address these issues, expanding our solutions within the Ethereum ecosystem thanks to Arbitrum Orbit and the idOS network."

Aleph Zero’s WASM Layer 1 blockchain, launched in November 2021, supports high-speed finality and numerous validator nodes, now serving as the Data Availability layer for the L2 EVM layer. The new EVM Layer 2 Developer Testnet, now live, invites developers to explore and build privacy-preserving applications.

The platform’s developer mainnet is slated for Q3 2024, with zkOS MVP expected by the same quarter and advanced features by Q1 2025. Notable use cases include privacy-enhanced DeFi apps, NFTs, and AI solutions, among others.

Aleph Zero EVM utilizes Arbitrum Anytrust DAC technology for fast, secure, and scalable execution, supporting thousands of transactions per second with near-instant finality. This collaboration with Gelato ensures robust developer tooling and a versatile platform for building privacy-enhanced applications.
