Author : Renuka K

Web3 security firm CertiK has issued a crucial warning to crypto investors using iPhones on the OKX exchange. A significant vulnerability was discovered, posing a threat to sensitive data and crypto assets. The vulnerability, identified as a Remote Code Execution (RCE) issue, was reported earlier this month. CertiK urgently advises all OKX wallet users on iOS to update their app immediately to ensure maximum security and protection against potential data breaches. OKX has responded promptly by releasing an updated version of the app to address the vulnerability.

This development highlights the ongoing challenges in the crypto industry, particularly with security breaches. A recent report noted that around $686 million was lost in crypto hacks in the third quarter of 2023, with 49 incidents recorded. CertiK has been active in issuing warnings about potential threats, including cautioning against the hype around Telegram bot tokens, which are often associated with exit scams. They reported that over 40% of these tokens might be scams, emphasizing the importance of vigilance in the rapidly evolving Web3 ecosystem
